BOOK LAUNCH

I’m launched!

The booklaunch for ‘Lines Dancing’ was on Sunday May 6th.

It was a fun afternoon, with performances from stunningly talented young musicians, poetry readings, and a sumptuous tea. Lots of copies sold and signed, lots of old and new friends nattered with; a good time was had by all.

My first book publishing venture

I’ve had many stories published in magazines and anthologies, but never before had a complete book of my own writing. Lines Dancing is a collection of poems written over the last 40 years. We (my husband Philip and I, just to make me sound like the Queen) choseĀ  print-on-demand, to keep costs under control and because between us we have the expertise to make a reasonable job of it. We chose Lulu for a variety of reasons, and so far it has proved to be a good experience. (Just don’t mention shipping charges – 60 copies of our slim volume, printed in Melbourne and posted to us about 50km away, cost a horrendous $66 – AusPost charge should only be $8.65.)
