I received the People’s Poet Award at the poetry reading and prize ceremony for the Wells Festival of Literature on Sunday, on the strength of the public vote from everyone who bought the booklet of shortlisted poems and the audience at the event. (Sadly, I was in the wrong hemisphere to be there to perform it myself, but somebody read my poem for me.)
